Copy data from a Window to the clipboard

I have a customer who just converted a Unix program to a Windows one.  The old program was FoxPro 2.6.  The new one is Visual FoxPro 9.

In the Unix program, using a product from FacetWin, he code select text anywere on the screen and copy to to the clipboard.

Is there any product like this for a windows product?  I Googled the question but came up with nothing.

Hi Wes,

Take a look at Snagit:

Wes,
I should point out that most folks I know use it for image (screen) capture, but it can also capture text. Here's the features list:

wesleygwilson--I am going to show my ignorance, since I know little about Unix or Fox Pro.

Windows 7 comes with the SnippingTool.exe.

Or, most screens allow you to hold down the left click button of your mouse, highlight the text you want to copy and then right click on the selected text and choose Copy from the context menu.  The selected text should now be on the Clipboard.

These responses did not solve the problem.  The customer wants to "scrape" text from anywhere on the screen, including labels. I purchased and tried the latest Snagit and put it  in  text mode.  This did not work.

I Googled the question for a long time.

I do not think this can be done.
@jcimarron,
I'm pretty sure the W7 Snipping Tool can make only an image, not text (png, gif, jpg, or mht...and even the mht is an image, not text). If it can make text, please let us know how.

Wes,
Maybe these links will help:

I've requested that this question be deleted for the following reason:

I have learned that  I am asking the impossible.  We cannot clip text out of graphics.
