vmWare PowerCli >> double arrows prevent continuing

Hi there,

I'm new to vmWare PowerCli.

When typing commands sometimes, after executing them the command prompt turns into '>>'.  This prevents powercli from continuing ANY commands from what I can see and the only way around this is to close and re-open, which is very frustrating because all variables are lost.

Two questions:

How can I save variables so that they are available between closes?

How can I continue my session without exiting?

I did read that the >> means that powercli recognises that the command is incomplete and thus prompts you to complete, but completing doesnt seem to work fro me, so I don't see how this can be true.

Many thanks!

Ctrl C worked to exit prompt, return didn't.   It turned out I missed a bracket from the end of the command.  Great tip for storing variables!  Have another error now but that's a different question.  Thanks Guys!
