Change DC and GC in Exchange 2007

I am in a process of switch over my 2003 Domain Controller to 2008 DC. Exchange 2007 server using old 2003 as DC and GC server. I am aware that it will change after demoting the existing DC, exchnage will find new server in 30 minutes time.

I don't want to demote the 2003 DCs until everything run smoothly in 2008 DC. I would like to forcely change exchange DC and GC to 2008 DC. How do i do that and is it safe to do this?

Once you do the demotion and all you can restart the ADTopology service to take current updates right away.

I wouldnt recommend Force if things work fine normally .... no reason to do this ?

few things i guess your aware would be to Transfer FSMO roles, or any other roles this WIndows 2003 holds that might need to be transfered.

Also if the W2k8 server is currently a DC\GC ... is Exchange working with it ?
Please lets check event 2080 to understand and work safely.

Plus make sure you run dcdiag to check health of the domain. Many just demote old servers never check the new DC is running properly
there is no need to do that exchange will pick up the change alone.

Moreover make sure NOT to demote the DC while exchange is on it since it will break your exchange and you won't be able to remove it

so the process should be

1. install DC on the new server
2. install exchange on the new server
3. migrate exchange to the new server
4. remove the old exchange from the old dc using uninstall
5. dc promo out the old dc
