DL380 multiple drives not seen

I have a DL380 G6 that's been off for a while, now I'm needing to use it.  I put some drives in slots 1,2,3,4.  The drives in 1,2,3 all are solid orange.  When I boot to SmartStart the Array Config only shows the drive in 4.  So I move the drives in 1,2,3 over to 5,6,7 and all shows up in ACU... drives 4,5,6,7.  So it's not the drives.

I replace the backplane with an identical part of a known working server.  Same thing.  So it's not the backplane.

I just ran the firmware 9.30 CD but that didn't help either.

Could it be the controller?  It's a P410i.

I can't run the PSP because there is no operating system on it.  I'll try to integrate those firmware updates for the controller and hdd's into my firmware USB.
cant you just install windows server on working hdd (do not activate windows) and run psp
that will be much more faster and reliable then anybody trying to run firmware updates from dos:)
I think Firmware maint CD has been retired it's now called HP SPP (Service Pack for Proliant) good for Proliant G5's and above. It has drives and firmware on the one DVD - 2.5GB tho.

Latest version - HP_Service_Pack_for_Proliant_2012.10.0-0_713293-001_spp_2012.10.0-SPP2012100.2012_1005.37.iso

The SAS cable had come loose on the embedded controller.  I had swapped backplanes but didn't think to check the cables on the other end, figured if it was a cable issue all 4 on a side would not work instead of just 3.  Thanks for the help!
thanks, I know from experience with a DL360
