Sizing the Citrix environment

Need an approximate timing and costs.  What would it take to build a Citrix environment for 150 concurrent users?
Number of gateway servers, app servers, etc.  How long would it take to design and build, etc.
2 Citrix Gateway servers – 1 CPU, 1Gb memory, 30Gb C: drive, and
4 Citrix Application servers – 2 CPU, 6Gb memory, 30Gb C: drive

Would that be enough?

It depends more on the application.

Apps like IE can have a wide range of memory needs and apps for imaging etc are quite heavy even with a single user.

What is the footprint of the intended programs when used locally.

As a simple example, my Firefox/IE has upto 30 tabs (or more) open and can easily use 1500 MB ram. Many people just use 1-2 pages.

On the other hands, I often produce results :)

@redbmaster: you missed out the datastore server! Moreover, how many applications you were supposed to host? Are they only standard like office, adobe and the like? Are they graphical resource-hungry applications? Do you really need 7 to 8 months to complete the project had you had only a few, 10 or less, standard applications to host? Can you still complete the whole project within 7-8 months if you had more than 100 resource-intensive applications to host? Do these two projects require the same man hours?

The fact is, you can't generalize your project to other projects. Moreover, in our environment (again virtualized as yours), we didn't require more than 2 cores for each session-host.

Yes I did forget to mention it. We did not setup a different server, but we run SQL Express on the licensing server.

Moreover, how many applications you were supposed to host? Are they only standard like office, adobe and the like?
We host desktops as mentioned above.

Are they graphical resource-hungry applications?
I would say hosting desktops is definitely resource-hungry.

Do you really need 7 to 8 months to complete the project had you had only a few, 10 or less, standard applications to host?
As stated above, "due to our company having locations all over the US."

Can you still complete the whole project within 7-8 months if you had more than 100 resource-intensive applications to host? Do these two projects require the same man hours?
I did not provide guesstimations on how long anything would take.

The fact is, you can't generalize your project to other projects.
Correct, I only gave an example of a working installation. Nothing more.

Moreover, in our environment (again virtualized as yours), we didn't require more than 2 cores for each session-host.
Sounds like our environments are very different from each other.

Mutawadi, I apologize if you felt miss lead, but I only meant to provide a working example. With the information that was provided, I felt that an example would be the most helpful to the OP. By the looks of it, they did too.
