import archive file back into Exchange

We have a user that archived almost there entire inbox (7GB) is there anyway to move that back into Exchange?

I'm running Exchange 2007 does that work for that?
Not really. In that case how that user archived his mailbox?
Is on PST file?
In that case you can run:

Import-Mailbox -Identity <mailboxUser> -PSTFolderPath <PSTFileLocation>

yes it is a pst fiel

how successful usually is this? is this a high risk thing, this is the owner of the company..

Personally, I would take a backup of the PST (for those oops moments) and then use the import option in OL to get the emails back "without duplicates" options selected (for avoiding future oops situations)

That'll keep you safe.
