Emails Getting Stuck in users Outbox intermittenty

We have a situation where emails are getting stuck in users outbox. (With  or without attachment).  This is occurring intermittently.  Recreating the Outlook profile resolves the problem temporarily but it re-occurs.

Anybody got a solution for this issue please - looks like a common problem, but cannot find a fix for it.  

Exchange 2010 is our server and clients run on Outlook 2010 and 2007
