Unable to modify one record in table

Wihthin one table have not been able to modify a record all other seems to be fine what would "lock" this one? It was orginally populated with a value of 122 then switched manually using  a GIS program(Manifold) to be County of Hastings. This one record won't change.

Its just a normal nvachar(100) column type i want to put the name into and not the ID.
Why would all other records allow a change but not this one?

What is the error you get in Query Analyzer when you issue the update statement?

UPDATE sometable SET somecolumn = 'NewValue' WHERE primarykey = 1234
