WD 1 T hard drive shows 405 GB on SBS 2011 essentials computer properties
What can I do about this:
I have a new Western Digital 1 T hard drive that only shows 405 GB free on SBS 2011 essentials computer properties.

pgm554, it is a Sata drive in an external enclosure and I am using an eSata cable.
any comments on my post?
Have you tried another system to see if it does the same thing?
There are issues with the built in backup and 4 k sector drives,but if you can plug it into another sata controller,that would be the quickest test.

Guessing that this is the system drive and you cannot account for the space? First look in Disk Manager and see if it is formated to its full capacity. Then, download and run windirstat or tree size pro. You have to right clicke the executable and "run as administrator".
