Access Dlink WAP on 192.168.0.50
Hi
I have a Dlink DWL 2100 Ap which was working fine but I did not know the user name and password. So I have performed a hard reset back to factiry settings.
Using Advanced IP scanner the WAP when plugged in to my router shows up as at 192.168.0.50, Manafacturer giver as D-Link Corp and the MAC address is given.
But I can not access the WAP through my browser. If I ping it no response is given. Does anybody have any thoughts? Of course I could simply go and buy a new one but i see this as a challenge now!
Thanks in advance.

Hi it-consult
Sorry dont quite understand. Can you expand on your question
"What is your subnet? if its not 192.168.0.x, then you cant reach the ap.
try to set up a fix ip. - f.i 192.168.0.5 and try again to connect."
When you say "try to set up a fix ip. - f.i 192.168.0.5" is this to give the router a fixed IP?
IP address of router is 192.168.1.1
Subnet of router is 255.255.255.0
Start IP address at 192.168.1.20
IP Pool Counts 50
Gateway IP address is 192.168.1.1
Thanks.

Thanks perfect. This worked and now all sorted
try to set up a fix ip. - f.i 192.168.0.5 and try again to connect.
another possibility is that you have to use a switch between ap and computer or a crossed cable without switch
