The version 9 client should work fine. Probably 10 too, but I haven't seen anything to say that it will.

All I want to be able to do is catalog the DB2 system/node and databases, monitor, run explains, and many such routine work...no heavy application development or need for any production type system implementation. A few months ago, I had AIX 6.1 and DB2v9.7. My client on windows (LUW 9.7 too) happily connected to both the AIX and the mainframe DB2 v9...and the client came free of any charge. Since on this account I am still bound to DB2v8 NFM, I thought I should ask if someone know of any specific reason why I should not use 9.7 client or even 10. client to access DB2 on the mainframe...That's all...
