Auto Close OpenOffice Dialog Boxes

I want to have a popup window display some progress information during the running of an OpenOffice basic macro.  That is, I want it to popup and then disappear on its own.  Is there a way to have a message box or dialog automatically close when used in an OpenOffice basic macro?  MsgBox requires the user to press a button and when I try using a dialog box they don't close with the .dispose, .endExecute, or .endDialog methods.   I've tried this in OOo3.3 on WinXP and RHEL 4, works the same on both.  Thanks.
