Thunderbird and Outlook

Dear experts,

One of my clientes is about to use Thunderbird and Outlook in different computers. I am not pretty sure if that is a good move because I think Thunderbird and Outlook can´t interact on everything, I mean, will the calendar synchronize in both email clients if I schedule a meeting using Thunderbird? what are the disadvantages of using both email clients on the same company? I think he should use only one of them, not both, what do you guys think?

Thanks in advance,

Winter

Thank you all for your answers. Just last one question before closing this entry, I am trying to push him to use Outlook, but in case he wants a free software, do you know any free email client as good as Thunderbird?
I've heard good things about EudoraOSE and SeaMonkey.

Thank you guys!
SeaMonkey, is just an even Older version of Mozilla's Firefox combined with Thunderbird.  I don't think i would push him that way.

Winter,
which software is he most comfortable with currently? Outlook, or Thunderbird?
Is he simply looking for a free alternative to Outlook?
Have you set up Thunderbird for him yet to actually confirm any issues with calendar syncing?  If you haven't played with Thunderbird yet, you do have to install the Lightning add-on to get the calendar integration with thunderbird, but it's a very easy setup.

I've never set up my thunderbird with Exchange, but i have set up Google Sync to sync my Outlook calendar back and forth at work.  That gives me my flexibility to carry Google calendar in my pocket and not worry about missing anything.  I also don't have my mail set up, but they don't pay me for working on my own personal system, so no need on my end.
