SCVMM 2012 and iScsi

Hello

Can you add iscsi using SCVMM and Hyper-v 3 just like you can add the iscsi info in vcenter and vsphere?

I dont want to have to go to all of my hosts and add the iscsi initiator and MPIO feature.

Please tell me I can do this through SCVMM

Thanks in advance

Yes, but the function is not part of SCVMM, it's part of Windows 2012 OS configuration.

You may also need to go to your SAN Vendor to download MPIO feature, or use Microsofts.

e.g. Dell Equallogic has the Host Integration Kit 4.5 for 2012 which does this for you.

Otherwise, go to Control Panel, and Configure iSCSI and Multi-path.

(with VMware, you are actually configuring the ESXi host).

The same, you configure the Windows OS.

I was just hoping there was a way through the client and not actually have to login to every host

Unfortunately not, this is Windows after all, it can be done through Powershell from SCVMM. Because there is a Powershell CMLET Remote Window.

But then there is a RDP option as well!

Personally, we configure all our Hyper-V hosts, configure iSCSI, MPIO - test, and then later add to VMM.
