Can a TF slot read a microSD

Q1:
I have a similar handheld scanner which just broke down but mine comes with
microSD slot.  I'm looking at the above model but it says it's TF slot.  Can it
read a microSD?

The above merchant dx.com do carry models with microSD but at a higher prices.

Q2:
Is there such thing as SD adapter for TF memory card (something similar to SD
to microSD adapter)?  I need to insert into my X61 Thinkpad laptop which has
an SD slot.  I'm not sure if my Thinkpad X61's slot could read a TF card directly

TransFlash (TF) was the original name of microSD. So, yes, a TF slot can support a microSD card. They are one and the same. The Wikipedia article on SD cards discusses it:

Sorry, I missed your second question. The answer is also yes...an SD adapter for a microSD card will work with a TF card...again, because TF and microSD are the same. Note this comment in the Wikipedia article:

"TransFlash and microSD cards are the same; each can be used in devices made for the other."
