How to avoid/exclude  the word press site from the search Engine.  I have installed the Password Protect WordPress  but still I am seeing from the search engine.
I need to hide my site from search engine at the same time all the internal search should not be affected.  Could you please provide me a fool proof way.

Highly appreciate your help in this regards.

Use .htaccess protection at the web root level:

http://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/howto-setup-apache-password-protect-directory-with-htaccess-file/

That will prevent all search engines from getting in.  You will have to give users the username and password though.

Otherwise, you set WordPress to disallow search engine robots in robot.txt under Settings | Reading by clicking "Discourage search engines from indexing this site"

Hello,

There are many ways to disable Search Engine Crawling and you can check http://www.webpronews.com/disabling-google-and-other-search-engines-from-crawling-a-site-2004-03

Also you can Check the "Search Engine Visibility" option from Wordpress (WP-Admin) >> Settings >> Reading of your site.
