1st generation Apple Tv with 160gb Hard Drive

I have a 1st generation 160gb apple TV.  I would like to get the content off from it but I am not on the same network that i was when I had it running years ago.  How can I boot it as an external HD and get the movies off from it?

The easiest way is to synch the apple tv back to your computer using iTunes.

If you want to access the AppleTV hard drive directly, you need a hack:
