Importing contacts into OUTLOOK.COM via MAPI produces errors

Merry Christmas / Happy Holidays,

This is the story: 4,461 contacts have been around from one Exchange Account from Company A to the Exchange Account of Company B, then to Gmail.

The actual profile the user uses is the Gmail via MAPI and even though the contacts are in Gmail and can be used, the user uses Outlook 2010 to manage all mail profiles ad have those contacts stored in a separated PST file.

Wherever the contacts are, they can be used; no errors, no problems.

Now, the user wants to migrate everything to Outlook.com and here is where the problems start: While importing them via Outlook 2010 we get all kind of problems: Company Name > 40 chars, Business City > XX chars, Text bigger than 1000 chars.

Of course, no clue which contacts are the one with the problems and looking at them via CSV is a daunting task.

The funny part is that we can import those same allegedly problematic contacts to any Contact folder in any PST with no problem, but no to the Outlook MAPI (or better said Outlook Connector-based) account.

Any clues?

Is there some format with the data in the CSV ?
What is the number of words used in those fields ?

Rancy,

I have 4,000+ rows in CSV. Do you want me to count what? That is a daunting task specially where the errors do nto point to any contact in particular and/or Outlook crahses.

So, yes. I want to fix this but I want to understand WHY it works everywere but when importing the same contacts, that supposedly have the problems, into the Outlook.com Contact folder.

As an additional test, I just took the CSV an imported WITH NO ERRROS whatsoever into a SUB folder of my own contacts in my Excahnge Accout with Office 365.

So, importing the 4,000+ this way do not produce any compalin about any field but when done over the MAPI account or when even using the IMPORT in Outlook.com, there are always errors

It is just incomprehensible that the same CSV content can be imported to anything but the Contact folder of the Outlook Connector MAPI view of the account.

I took 4 beers and copy groups of contacts, few contacts at the time and copied them to the account.

Of course they are missing contacts, but few is better than ALL.

Thanks for trying to help.

In the Xmas spirit ... I will assign you points
