An trying to upgrade WordPerfect 12 to X6 company wide. XP's seem to not be an issue but Win7 PC are erroring out on 1303 errors stating that need administrative rights to the Program Files (x86\Common Files\Borland Shared\BDE. Because of other legacy apps, ALL users are granted administrative local rights via a staff group.

I can install this under an administrator account but the issue is that I need to upgrade which imports all quickwords, custom templates, etc. I tried giving that folder full rights to everyone as suggest on a google search but that didnt work. Any suggestions??

I believe I got 2 to install correctly. No idea why but included the user account explicitly on the permission grants (which makes no sense since should be granted by the group). Not sure though so if anyone has any ideas I am open to suggestions at to better methods.

Since I had no choice to continue to work on I found the solution by trial and error. BTW turning off the UAC didnt address the issue.
