There is no wrong way to install vmware tools, right?<br />
I didn't follow your procedure (couldn't see movie from hanccocka location I was at then). <br />

When I do shutdown of machine (Solaris) it doesn't do anything, vm just doesn't respond on shutdown via menu in vcenter ... it does via console, then shutdown. Then again it takes a really long time, black screen on vm but it stays on, seems vm is still running but ping isn't there anymore. <br />
