my lenovo x201 shows me the next warning msg:
windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer, no devices connected
it doesn't come up , and a;ways goes back to the same error mesage ?
can someone help ?

i will replace the HD, to see if it works.. and let you know

did you try a system restore?
why do you replace the HD ? did you test it?
that is the first thing to do if you suspect it

i took it out, put it on a USB to SATA device to backup the data.
it takes a million years until it can be read...and when trying to copy some files cannot be copied... (corrupted and many other error messages)

best connect the drive to a normal sata connector - not via USB
but yes, that indicates disk problems
best run a diag on it , to be sure
if the diag can't repair it, try HDDRegenerator, it repaired many drives for me :

probably the HD was in vetry bad condition.
only when i replaced it everything work as usual

can it mean the HD is dead ??
