Or can my Dell Inspiron 6500 power adapter be used on E6230 (which I have
not taken delivery yet).

Is E6230's power adapter bulkier & heavier than Lenovo X220's ?

What if it's Dell Inspiron's power adapter?  Can it be used on E6230
Commented:
Possibly, but may not...

I really don't know the answer to that but I do know they make universal adapters.

It would be based mainly on power output (Amps and Watts).
