I need information that will help me develop procedure of access to production servers and follow industry best practice.

Issue right now we have is that we create generic vendor accounts to connect via VPN with no monoring mechanism or control in place.

generic accounts are not best practice these days its a risky option (shared pswd) do you HAVE to use them?
