Are the workstations configured for static ip addresses or dynamic? Is there a firewall application installed on each workstation?

It did work, had issue where I lost the primary domain controller, has dns mess, all of everything has been resolved, the only thing I cant do from a workstation or server is to browse network, doesnt work from backup exec to set up backups.  Have checked every last setting in dns to insure that old server name doesnt exist
