Remote Apps Quickbooks needs to use outlook to send mail

We are using RDS on server 2008 r2 to remotely run quickbooks 2012 as a remote app.

The users need to be able to send mail from the application using outlook.

I have found a solution but it is not quite optimal. I have outlook 2007 installed on the terminal server and have each quickbooks user logged in with outlook open. This works when they need to send mail from quickbooks.

Is there a better way to set this up? I dont want to have to make sure these accounts are always logged in and outlook running. Is there any way for remote apps to see the local installation of outlook?

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

No. RemoteApp applications behave the same way that regular RDS sessions behave, which is isolated from the computer logging into the RDS session host.

There is the possibility that there are 3rd party applications which can bridge the gap, but nothing built-in within Microsoft's RDS role.
