Arranging Itunes 11.0.1 by Album

I have a bunch of podcasts that should be sorted by album but instead they are just thrown in a grouping that just says teachings.  There is an album cover showing but the collection is a mismatch of all kinds of albums.

Looking at the metadata it appears the album name just says teachings but the grouping has the album name.  The sort option under album just has the word teachings too.

There are over 400 podcasts in this teachings album and I want to get them sorted out into album sequence.  How can I do this in the most expeditious way?

Thanks,

Randal

Ok, here is the screenshot the last column is the album name but they are all under one folder and I want to break them out by album.  Changing the metadata doesn't seem to do anything.  This was from the list view so you could see the album names.

The second attachment is from the podcasts view and it is showing the first podcast as the title for the folder.

Thanks,

Randal

So looking at your screen shots I'm still having to extrapolate a few things:

1. You called this a folder but it looks like a Smart Playlist. You can only have folders in the Music View, not in Podcast view, so I'm assuming it's either a single playlist or a folder containing multiple playlists, Smart of not. Can you clarify and perhaps show a screen shot of the folder and any playlists it contains?

2. Can you also show a screen shot of the View Options including the Sort selection at the top?

I'm sorry about the terms, I am not familiar with them.  The podcasts are in itunes wherever it goes when it is downloaded from the internet.  So it isn't something I have set up.

I'll be glad to give you a screenshot if you will tell me how to get to what you are talking about or maybe a screenshot of what it should look like.

When I click on View --> View Options  - "It says  No View Options."

Thanks,

Threat intelligence is often discussed, but rarely understood. Starting with a precise definition, along with clear business goals, is essential.

In iTunes 11, you view Podcasts directly by selecting it from the popup menu on the left side.

Podcast Select
You then have three views selectable in the center: Unplayed, Podcasts and Lists.

Podcast Views
I can see the top of the windows in our list view screen shot but I'm assuming that you are looking at "Podcasts"(as selected on the left) and "List" view as selected in the center. The other screen shot seems to have been taken from either the "Podcasts" or "Unplayed" view (you'll need to confirm that).

There are "No View Options" available in either Unplayed or Podcasts views but there ARE available in List view. Try playing with them there and see if you can get what you are looking for.

Both of the above are correct - I did the list view so you could see the album names listed in the description column.  I did the podcasts to show you the album art showing only the first podcast even though there are many albums present.

The options don't seem to help because the album names only show in the description column which is the same title for every podcast.

Playing with the view options doesn't help.  Remember I am wanting this to show or be grouped by album.  Is there some way to change the metadata manually to get them grouped by album?

The 2nd line in the View Options attachment shows my attempt to change the album name to match the description.  But I can't tell anything has changed.

This podcasts folder has many albums in it that are arranged properly.  I just want to take this miscellaneous grouping (the first album which has 401 podcasts in it) and break it out by album like the others happen to be.  You can see what I am talking about in the second attachment called Album List.

As a test, I subscribed to the same Andrew Wommack podcast that you are looking at. The default sort order is "Release Date" and when it's set to that it looks just like your screen, but if you simply change it to "Description" it sorts properly. The Album for all 400 podcasts is "Andrew Wommack Audio Teachings" and I wouldn't even try to change that because any new downloads will also come with that Album name. But the sorting by description seems to do what you are looking for in list view. If you want to further sort it, you could assign "Groupings" and sort by that instead.
