Our ADTRAN ATLAS 830 reboots itself sporadically for reasons unknown to us.  We need help in figuring out why it reboots itself and how to stop it.

Sounds like a hardware issue.

I would first try to upgrade the firmware on it. Then if you still experience reboots, replace the whole thing.

Call up Adtran tech support too before you replace just to make sure.

I called Adtran right away, but unfortunately they did not offer much diagnostics options over the phone.  According to the Adtran techie, and not counting logging, this unit does not have diagnostics onboard which would allow to troubleshoot its hardware effectively. Besides out of warranty maintenance, they came back with the following action plan.

1. Factory restore the unit
2. Reload the firmware on the unit
3. Monitor the unit

Yup, sometimes it's easier to replace the whole thing. :(
