Lenovo X220 DIMM slot & DIMM sizes

Q1:
How many DIMM slots can Lenovo X220 support?

Q2:
Suppose I currently has 1 pc 2GB DIMM, what are the
DIMM sizes I need to get to reach a total RAM of 8GB?

Q3:
What are the DIMM sizes available for X220?
2GB, 4GB, 6GB, 8GB ?

Q4:
I noticed some of the latest Macbooks come with 8GB
RAM.  Any reason why they don't come with 6GB or
10GB or ??  Does laptops (I'm contemplating Win 7
Lenovo X220) RAM sizes has to be 2, 4, 8 GB sizes
(ie 2 to the power x) & it's unnatural to have 6GB or
10GB ?

It's 64 bit Windows 7, so should be able to detect the full 8GB.

If I have existing 2GB, plus one pc of 8GB, so I'll have 10GB useable,
right?  Some Proliant servers I've encountered won't accept such
mixed DIMM sizes, thus, I'm enquiring here

In the links above, there are people who claimed that X220 could recognize
up to 16GB RAM though officially X220 is published to support up to 8GB
only.  If I were to get one piece of 8GB DIMM, then with my existing 2GB
DIMM, shouldn't I get 10GB in total?
Awesome I didn't know that. Worth trying though if you can RAM to fit. And yes that would work 8GB + 2GB - IF it supports 16GB like they are claiming. Might try it myself now
