I installed DotNetNuke portal 4.0.1_StarterKit.
We are using Sql Server 2005, IIS 5.1 version.
When I run our website, I have An error has occurred writing to the exception log.
What could cause it?

Off the top of my head the problem could be caused by permissions or the log not existing. Do you know where the log it is writing to is supposed to be? Have you checked the Windows Event Log to see if anything is being written there (unhandled exceptions are often written to the event log by default).

Thank you for your help.
I did take a look on windows logs and it said Can not access ~\_default directory.
But suppendly, this directory should be created by DotNetNuke.
Could be something wrong in dotnetNice istallation?

I don't know much about DotNetNuke, but if there's supposed to be a directory called _default I'd check to make sure it's actually there. If it's there, make sure whatever account the web site is running under has access to write to that directory.
