I branched this question off from Windows Server 2008 redirection is not working. I felt the Windows Server 2008 redirection is not working should be split into parts and did not like that the question was posted under the category web browser. Totallytonto thinks it is better that other experts like ve3ofa need to know that it is part of a bigger question.

I do not know whether the redirection folders I see were created by the redirection process or whether an administrator created them.

Simple to test,
create a new user that is a member of the OU that the redirection policy applies to.
logon as the new user, logoff, then logon again as this user, now check to see where the documents folder is located.  it normally takes 2 logons to implement a user policy.

I did not use 2 logons. The new redirection folder did show up for the newly created user.
