Hello experts,

When trying to login to a windows 8 PC either locally or by RDP, an error message stating

"The number of connections to this computer is limited and all connections are in use at the moment"

I have tried restarting the machine and also restarting the SBS 2011 server but still getting the same error

Anyone got any ideas please

Hi.

Please tell us if this could have to do with liberately messing the the termsrv.dll in order to make win8 accessible by more than one.
If not: no idea, please give more details: did it work at first, did you change anything, do you run any software that should allow multiple persons to login concurrently?

Hi, I have not changed anything.  It worked the first time I connected over RDP and after about 10 mins the session closed unexpectedly, ever since I have been unable to log back into the machine either over RDP or locally

I seem to have sorted the problem.  After restarting the workstation again I tried to log in and was given the error message

"The task you are trying to perform cant be completed because remote desktop services is currently busy.  Please try again in a few minutes.  Other users should still be able to login"

After seeing this message I decided to restart the workstation that I had been using to connect over RDP when the connection originally dropped off.  After a restart I was able to login.

I can only assume some sort of service must still have been maintaining a connection to the workstation.
