Lenovo x1 carbon versus the T430s - what the weight difference ?

I am comparing these for a potential purchase.

The T430s is 4 pounds and the X1 Carbon is 3 pounds.

The X1 does not have and cannot have a hard drive, but the screen is the same in both (1600x900).

They will both do the same work.
