Do I need to make any changes once it is installed?

Yes but how do you currently do name resolution for external sites?  Are you letting root hints resolve or do you forward to other DNS servers that do the work?

Also if you run AD integrated zones and install DNS the AD zones will populate automatically so this would be on a member/non-AD server.

thanks

Yes, we use root hint to resolve.

Thanks Mike.
