exchange server security

When logged into a domain & using Outlook on an exchange server, is it possible for files to be copied from your local machine by an admin?

If an archive .pst created on a local machine is in Outlook, is it also located on the server?

How can the Outlook archive be available to the local Machine only and not located on the server?

Can data be permanently deleted from the Server through the local machine?

None of your questions have cut and dry answers, as behaviors can be changed based on permission settings. And ultimately, the rules of security (not just exchange) apply...if someone has physical access to your machine (local or server) then it isn't your machine anymore.

1) Yes, by default domain admins are also made members of the local admin group when a machine is joined to a domain. As such they can copy files off the machine.

2) Not by default, but this can be changed if folder redirection or some other archiving service is used.

3) Permissions. File level. Server level. Group memberships. But really, if a machine is domain joined then there is likely a reason and if you don't want the admin to have access...you shouldn't be doing whatever you don't want them to have access to.

4) Yes, again depending on permissions.

I also learned that even when emails are deleted, they go into a log file that can be retrieved by admin.
