Does anyone know why Excel 2003 changes the Update Links from 'Let users choose to display the alert or not' to 'Don't display the alert and don't update automatic links' This is causing me serious issues.

Thank you in advance

hi,
i don't think Excel 2003 would automatically change the preferences. How often have you seen this problem occuring? and has anyone else reported the same issue too?

Another question - is this problem localized to 1 specific workbook.

if you have an excel file and you select the option Don't display the alert and update links on a workbook, this choice affects all users of the workbook.

if this is true for 1 single file, are you the only user that uses the excel file?

It does appear to be yes.

if you have an excel file and you select the option Don't display the alert and update links on a workbook, this choice affects all users of the workbook.

I am telling the file to update.

if this is true for 1 single file, are you the only user that uses the excel file?

No matter who open the file it does not update.

since it is localized to one file, do u have any macros in the file? can you share your file so that i can check it out? you can remove any sensitive data from the file before posting it here.
