Hi there, we have an older install of BESe on a 2003 physical box which we would like to virtualise to save some rack space.
After several failures at P2V we decided to bring up a new 2008 R2 virtual machine and install BESe afresh. (we are connected using Exchange)
However, my knowledge of the system is novice at best and I am unable to use the switch the users from the physical box to the virtual one.
What would be the easiest way of doing this without having to wipe the devices?
The servers are setup with local SQL express databases though I do have the option to add the database to our SQL 200 server if required. The virtual server can also be reconfigured if required but the less I do with the original physical box the better (massive SPOF).
The ultimate aim is to migrate all users to the virtual box and decommission the physical.
Thanks in advance.
Use the Enterprise Transporter to do this.
It's an application that connects to both SQL databases and migrates the users in real-time or bulk depending on what you want to do.
