Closest Color Matching Algorithm
I'm looking for a way to best match a color to a list of colors for closest match weighted to the visible eye.
Weight might be something like:
30% Red, 60% Green, 10% Blue
Would it be better for me to match on RGB or HSL? What are the best methods you know of to accomplish this task?

C#

there are 2 alternatives in the post:
1. using CIE Lab color space
2. RGB to HSL conversion (simpler)
