I'm using php "mail" to create and send emails.
The body of the email includes a link to a file
ie.. <a href="http://www.site.com/filename.txt" />filename</a>

When Gmail recipients open the email, the link doesn't work.
Works fine in Outlook.

thanks

Was this a typo?

Why do you have an extra "/" in the link?

Try:
 <a href="http://www.site.com/filename.txt">filename</a>
instead of:
 <a href="http://www.site.com/filename.txt" />filename</a>
