Hi, thanks for the reply. Yes, that is the manual but I am not able to open a console

the .PDF manual

"How do I install Dell OpenManage Server Administrator with only the CLI features?
By choosing not to install the Server Administrator Web Server, you get CLI features only."

I have installed, however, once it is installed, how do I access? I open command line but try to execute omreport command for example from cmd, but it seems it is not installed.

I've never installed it with just the CLI feaures. I beleive the only way to access it through CLI is to run the normal install and access it though CLI afterwords if that access method you select.

So, I'm not sure exactly what you have tried ... did you install ONLY the Web Server module, or did you ONLY install the Server Instrumentation module?  Did you reboot?  What version of Windows OS are you running?

Ok,

Thanks for your reply

I answer myself. After looking up information about this.

I have ESXi 5.0

Two software are neccesaary :
- OMSA install bundle for ESX
-OpenManage Server Administrator Managed Node 7.1 (OMSA) - For Windows

I installed omsa 6.5 for my ESX host by using powercli and OMSA 7.1 in a windows vm.

No CLI tools are installed on the virtual machine. To execute CLI is necessary to connecto to host by using, for example, putty. Therefore, there is not any interface or feature on the windows guest, only web interface is installed to connect to remote esx host.

My problem was, I was able to access to my DELL g720 by using openmanage server administrator 7.1 which I installed on a windows 2008 r2  mv guest. From this mv I connected by using openmanager server adminsitrator. However, one day, Systems Management Data Manager Stopped (I realized this issue because when I connected to it was not possible get any information of poweredge storage and other parameters,. In logs section of OPenManage adminsitrator I saw that message indicating the service was stopped.

To try to fix this I did:

- connect by using putty to the esx host
- execute /usr/lib/ext/dell/srvadmin/bin/dataeng restart

Once I restarted the service the agent is online again and it is possible to accesss and I got information again.

I hope it will be useful.

I use that Open Manage ap on physical servers running Win 2003 and 2008. I've never had a problem. We continue to run it weekly to check servers me maintain.

If you or your company is the registered owner of the server, you can get the servce tag and call Dell basic server support. I've called them on ocasion and they are very god. The provide basic server support for the life of the server to the registered user on a 24x7 basis. It sounds like you should get them involved.

To close and award points, all you need to do is click Accept Multiple Solutions, click the appropriate experts names, distribute points, select a grade at the bottom  and the question will close.

Good luck with your server.
