Assigning a macro variable to a SAS Export Statement

I have a SAS Export Statement that I would like to assign a macro variable to the end of the file name.

%let compno = 01

How would I do this?
 filename_&compno.xls

i assume your problem is with the filename not having an extension i.e. filename_01xls?

have 2 periods will solve this:
filename_&compno..xls
