SQL Server Name in A cluster
I have a sql server 2008 cluster. When I browse through sql management studio for the server, I do not see the sql clustername as defined in cluster manager (ngdbcluster) it shows the active server name (ndb1a).
I can type the name in the connect to box and it works, but I need to have the correct name displayed in the browse window.
Sql server browser service is installed and running.

Try registering the the server with cluster name from the management studio.

yes that will work for my instance of sql management studio, but I need it to show up for everyone as the correct name without them having to register.
