Configuring SQL Server Mirroring - Can you do it with users connected?

Hi
Can anyone tell me if it is possible / sensible to configure mirroring on an SQL Server 2008 R2 database while the users are using the database?

I have a number of databases that need to have mirroring turned on and have just been asked if I can do it during the day when the databases are in use.

I have looked and searched, but cannot find the answer so wondered if anyone here had any experience on this?

Looking at the documentation, there is no reason you couldn't do that. The steps include backing up the principal database and restoring it to a mirror and turning the mirroring on. For more information follow the steps outlined in the documentation:
