I've got an issue with an SQL Server 2005 instance refusing to be removed. I've tried using the control panel and the instructions found in KB 909967 to remove the instance with no success. Event Viewer shows the following information from the setup:

Attached is a setup log grabbed from the failed uninstall process.

This existing instance is from a previous installation of Kaspersky Security Center which was removed from the system and is now preventing the re-installation. I've contacted Kaspersky, who directed me to contact MS since the problem appears to be with MS SQL. Still waiting on MS Support. Thanks for any help / advice.

Tried both avenues, with no success. SQL still sees the existing instance of the database. I ended up creating a new instance and using that for the installation of Security Center. Thanks for the suggestions.
