VPN - Cannot connect to Phonebook Entry

Hello, I have a user who is having trouble connecting to VPN.

He had a saved vpn shortcut on his desktop, but whenever he tries to access it, the vpn tries to connect for maybe half a second and gives him the error below:

Cannot connect to phonebook entry.
Error 5: Access Denied

Something interesting to note is that when I create a new connection and connect right from it, the VPN will connect perfectly fine. However, when I save that connection and try to connect to it again, it gives me the same error above.

Is there a permission error running the shortcut?  That is, is the user profile running the shortcut the same user profile that created the VPN connection.

No, no permission error. We used the same account to create a new vpn connection. I have him connected right now to the VPN, but if he tries to connect again to the same vpn connection, it will deny him with the error above.
I have found I get profile errors in VPN profiles (and wireless profiles for that matter). Try deleting all the VPN profiles, restarting the computer, and then remaking the needed profile. See if that helps.
