can't uninstall exchange 2000

i am trying to uninstall exchange 2000 server but keep getting following message. how can i remove this server?

"Microsoft Exchange Messaging and collaboration services can't REMOVE because: One or more users currently use a mailbox store on this server. these users must be moved to mailbox store on different server or mail disabled before uninmstalling this server."

Error message when you try to remove Exchange Server from a mailbox server that no longer hosts mailboxes: "One or more users currently use a mailbox store on this server"

i followed the doc and still can't remove the server. what else can i do?

You want to remove the server or take care of the warning .... if you want to simply remove the server we can delete the MailboxDB using ADSIEDIT and then use the uninstall to remove the Exchange from the server
