Solaris LDOM and Oracle VM Server are different products.

You cannot manage VMware vSphere with them.

Oracle VM Server is the newer product (name) for Solaris LDOMs.

So if you were implenting a new technology today you would use Oracle VM Server.

Yes, it peforms similat functions and more Oracle Enterprse OPs center manages SPARC, X86, Oracle Solaris, Oracle Linux, Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance, Oracle Switches, and both Oracle VM technologies.

You would need to contact your Oracle Account Manager, Oracle do not like giving away test products! (because people then use them in Production without paying any money!).
