Virtual Desktop Template Error Server 2012

Hello,

I have Server 2012 set up in a lab environment with the intention of creating a Virtual Windows 8 Desktop I can deliver across the LAN, basically for proof of concept and to test it's overall capabilities.

I have a single server serving as the DC, running DNS, DHCP, and the RDS roles.  I have created a virtual Windows 8 machine and I noticed it was not receiving a proper IP address. I ran syprep nonetheless to see how far I could get.  When I went to create a Virtual desktop collection, the aforementioned issue bit me and I got the following error :  "The network adapter of the virtual desktop template is not connected to a virtual switch"

I aborted the creation of the collection at that point.

Additional info: I have an internal switch specified.  I am not sure if that is the correct type of switch.  The server has 2 physical NICS, but I disabled one.  Server has Dual Quad Core Xeon processors,16 Gb of RAM, and 150 Gb of Disk Space.

How can I rectify this issue ?   I did try creating a new VM, but still had the issue with the NIC.

Thanks,

John

don't create a virtual switch, use a virtual network adapter ONLY..
create your virtual machine, sysprep it, NOW copy the .vhdx/vhd to a secure location (a template location) now for subsequent installs use a differencing disk linked to the original.
