Adding new contacts to public/global contacts in exchange 2010/outlook 2010 (using the new contacts button), the contacts go to my personal contacts folder

Outlook 2010, connected to an exchange 2010 server...
When the current view is on global contacts in the public folder...
the new contact button in the upper left hand corner of outlook indicates "new global contact". But when you use that button to add a new contact, the new contact is actually created in my personal contacts.

Any Ideas?

To create a contact in PF the PF should be set\created as a Contacts folder and then only you can create contacts in that PF

Create a New Folder
1. Right-click the main (parent) folder that you want to create a folder under.
2. Select "New Folder..." from the menu that appears.
3. Enter the name you want to call the folder (in the "Name:" text box).
4. From the "Folder contains:" drop-down menu, select what you want to put in the new folder (Contacts)
5. Click the OK button.

The problem and solution was the removal of an unknown form being used as the default form for global contacts.
