Hello,
      I have a thermometer chart in an excel file. I would like this chart to get the data from a separate excel file. Can this be done?
      Perhaps I should explain what I am trying to do. I have a PowerPoint presentation that runs continuous on a LCD screen. One of the slides is this thermometer that shows our progress toward sales goals. I would like to update this chart without having to stop the presentation and reload a new slide. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thank you

>>> yes

>>> yes but need some VBA to make sure it is correctly refreshed.

Can you post anything that can help get practical around all this ?

Here is a sample file. I would like to keep a file on the network that the data can be updated and it will update the last slide.

ok you have to do something like in the attached picture. In your ppt click on the graph and edit the worksheet then on the data sheet click on Data in the ribbon and choose Connections and then add this connection once added click on it and choose property and then you can set the details for refresh like in the attached picture to be every minute or more save it and then try putting the powerpoint graph and in the background \make changes to the excel and see if it replicate on the graph.

You need to make sure that the graph you put in powerpoint is a LINK and not a copy of the graph that is on the server.
