Googletalk to open gmail using Chrome

Is there a way to make the gmail portion of Googletalk use Chrome specifically instead of using the "default browser"?

We're forced to move to use Chrome for Gmail, and that's easily addressed for those that don't use googletalk too...  The link there uses default browser, and soon that will force users to separately open chrome to use gmail properly.

We can't move to IE9 as the logical alternative because many clients are using XP which doesn't support that version....leaving only Chrome as the next option.

You'll just have to make Chrome the default browser on XP and windows 7 simple enough to do, they can still use Internet Explorer.
With windows 7  I just pinned both browsers to my taskbar side by side as I still use IE 9 for somethings. But Chrome is default.
Have the XP clients add IE 8 to quick launch next to Chrome and they can still use both..
Chrome is better suited for most things with internet anyway and it's faster and safer than IE.
Time is catching up on XP sorry I cant offer any hacks or tricks
with how Windows nature is with web browsers.
